Level 3 Apprenticeship

Overview

This qualification is for individuals that are currently employed in a Health and Social Care adult focused setting and can be delivered through work-based learning. It is expected that learners have a degree of autonomy in their role and are supporting/supervising others to deliver high quality care.

It is suitable for:

  • Learners who have successfully completed Level 2 Health and Social Care
  • Learners who have completed appropriate legacy qualifications included in the Social Care Wales Qualifications Framework for Social Care and Regulated Childcare in Wales.


What is covered on the course?

The mandatory content of the qualification is aligned to the key themes of the All Wales Induction Framework for Health and Social Care and includes:

  • Principles and Values
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Processional Practice
  • Safeguarding
  • Health & Safety

Course duration

19 months

Entry requirements

The apprentice must be employed, working more than 16 hours per week and have completed at least 3 months of their probation period and be working in a senior role, supporting others. They must have an understanding of and use of IT equipment.

Qualifications

On successful completion of the qualification, the individual will be awarded the following:

  • Health and Social Care Core Level 2 (Adults)
  • Health and Social Care Practice Level 3 (Adults)
  • Essential Skills in Maths and English Level 2 (if applicable)
